The island is covered with yellow spear-leaf arnica (Arnica longifolia) flowers in mid-summer. Broken Top Mountain rises in the back left of the image. Broken Top, which stands 9,177 feet (2,797 meters) tall, is a stratovolcano that last erupted about 100,000 years ago and has since been eroded by glaciers.
