Stars fill the night sky as a lenticular cloud forms over Mount Rainier in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington. Lenticular clouds form when moist air is forced up and over mountains or other large obstructions. The moist air condenses and becomes a visible cloud as it rises. Mount Rainier, which has a summit of 14,411 feet (4,392 meters), is the highest mountain in Washington state and largest volcano in the Cascade Range.
