The morning sun rises over the summit of Mount Si, shining into a fog in the Snoqualmie Valley of Washington state. Mount Si, which has an elevation of 4,167 feet (1,270 meters), is located at the western edge of the Cascade Range and is a remnant of an oceanic plate volcano. Its summit is a class 3 rock scramble known as the Haystack.
