Yosemite National Park in California was designated a World Heritage Site in 1984 and is internationally known for its spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams and giant Sequoia groves. Illustrating the height of the towering granite formations, the park ranges in elevation from 2,127 to 13,114 feet (648 to 3,997 meters).
