16 images Created 6 Feb 2012
The snowy owl (Nyctea Scandiaca) is one of the largest types of owls, typically found in the northern circumpolar region above 60 degrees North latitude. It winters in Canada, Alaska and northern Eurasia, and occasionally ventures further south in a type of migration known as an irruption. This is a collection of snowy owls photographed in Ocean Shores, Washington, and Boundary Bay, British Columbia, Canada.
